Features
Assemble ships with the features viewers expect from a modern streaming service. Each one is backed by a documented middleware API, so it behaves the same way on web, mobile and TV.
Discovery and search
Viewers browse curated rails, collections and genre pages, then dive into detail pages with cast, synopsis, ratings and related content. Search covers the whole catalogue, keeps a personal search history and supports filtering and sorting so the right title is only a few keystrokes away.
Playback
The playback service issues protected stream URLs with DRM, enforces entitlements and concurrent-stream limits, and supports skip-intro cue points, resume from where you left off, Chromecast casting and offline downloads on supported devices.
Live TV, EPG and live events
Linear channels are presented in a scrollable programme guide with now-and-next information. Live events can be scheduled inside channels, and sports content has dedicated endpoints for fixtures and events.
Monetisation
Assemble supports subscription tiers and entitlements, transactional video on demand (TVOD) and pay-per-view (PPV), web checkout, in-app purchases on mobile and a QR-code hand-off flow so TV viewers can pay on their phone. Advertising can be added alongside or instead of paid access.
Accounts, profiles and notifications
Registration with one-time-passcode verification, multiple profiles per household, email change, device-aware sign-in and sign-out, and push notifications keep viewers engaged and their accounts secure.
CMS-driven configuration
Menus, pages, themes, badges and layouts are authored in a CMS and delivered through a configuration API. Product and editorial teams can rearrange the experience, run promotions or add new sections without shipping a new app build.
Analytics and social sharing
Built-in analytics events give a consistent picture of engagement across platforms, and social sharing lets viewers send titles to friends straight from the detail page.
